OTM Exclusive 💍 What happens when a wedding dress designer makes her own dress? A 700-hour, hand-embroidered creation that transforms into a mini on the dance floor, naturally.

@ellamaylondon founder @EllaMaySangster married Hughie de Zulueta at her family home in West Berkshire. Family heritage and handmade touches were pillars of the weekend’s celebrations.

Her 90-year-old grandmother—who first taught her to sew—made her veil and hand-sewed every flower onto it. Her cousin painted the pattern for the table linens. Ella May, her mum, and her granny hand-painted lampshades, pots, and ashtrays. And the couple’s four golden retrievers served as “paws of honor.” 🐾

The real fashion moment came during the first dance to Baccara’s “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie,” when Ella May’s mother and bridesmaids appeared with sparkly scissors and began snipping away at the hidden pink tacking threads in her dress. Off came the sleeves, skirt, and train—and out came the mini just as the song hit its crescendo. 🪩✂️
