One of my fav things to shoot is brunch…

It’s the way the hollandaise settles over a perfectly poached egg. The way soft morning light makes everything on the table glow. And it’s what brunch really stands for: people slowing down, sharing plates, and spending time together.
Swipe to see what the BTS of this shot looks like ✌🏽

A Thanksgiving menu can photograph beautifully and still read as just dinner. What sells the table is the work around it: plating built for the room, and a table set to feel like the middle of the meal, with dishes still being passed and people in no hurry to leave.

This year, ORA is thankful for the people making those calls. The crew who arrive before the first plate lands and wait out the steam for the one frame that works. And the clients who trust the process enough to let that happen.

This carousel features ORA’s Thanksgiving work.

Which frame would make you book the table? 1-10

Every time I scroll through luxury hotel pages on Instagram, I see the same lifestyle shots. A hand grabbing something from the bathroom counter. Someone staring out a window. An arm sticking out from under the covers. Someone looking in the mirror.

I get why hotels do it. They want to show off the amenities. But it all starts to blur together after a while.

For this shoot I wanted to try something different. I brought in two models who had never met before, and my job was to get them comfortable enough to feel like a real couple in love. Honestly, that was the hardest part. Taking a nice photo is one thing. Getting two strangers to relax and actually connect in front of a camera is a whole different skill.

I really believe this kind of content does more for a hotel than another photo of the view. Most guests don’t even get the room with that view. What they remember is how the stay made them feel, and that’s what I wanted these images to capture.

“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life.” Richard Bach
When the world shut down in 2020, I didn’t have a studio, a client list, or a plan. What I had was a few friends who opened their kitchens and their homes to me, let me photograph the food they made with love, and treated me like one of their own.
These images are where my food photography started. Every hotel, every chef, every campaign since then traces back to this spread.
To the people in these photos: you gave me more than a start. You gave me family. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving. 🍂

Selected for the @foodelia 132nd Collection.

The Steak Rossini by Chef @chefrsalas at the St Regis Toronto. A French classic done right: filet mignon over white and green asparagus, crowned with seared foie gras and finished tableside with a wine sauce.
What the camera can’t show you is the fresh Burgundy truffle that finishes it. The definition of a chef’s kiss. 🤌

My job is to make you taste it with your eyes. Thank you to Chef Richard for trusting me with your plate, and to the Foodelia judges for the recognition.

We didn’t win the burger competition this was made for. Then it went viral at a pop up. Now it’s been selected for the @foodelia 132nd Collection.

Korean fried chicken by Chef @keith_pears with roasted garlic aioli, citrus slaw, bread and butter pickles and toasted sesame on a brioche bun.
That smoke? Real rosemary, burning behind the burger. No AI, no shortcuts, just fire and good light. 🔥

Grateful to the Foodelia International Food Photography Awards judges for the recognition. Some dishes just refuse to lose.

As a Canadian living in Florida, one thing I really miss is Poutine. Crispy fries topped with real cheese curds and hot gravy…🤤. Some add other toppings but I like mine original with a little black pepper 🤌🏽

A weekend in Melbourne with my wife and our two dogs. No agenda…just slow mornings, coffee at sunrise, lunch at the @landing.rooftop and a team at @hotelmelbyfl who made all four of us feel genuinely looked after.

After all these years in hospitality, I notice the small things. This place gets them right.
