$Grateful for these opportunities. -Not too long ago I received the unfortunate news that I had suffered a stress fracture in both of my posterior tibula. What I expected to be a month off turned into 100+ days of time off, cross training and slowly returning back to running. Despite the poor circumstances, I was able to stay in shape by biking and swimming every day. To my surprise, I found myself in PR shape for my first race back in April. Breaking 2 minutes in the 800 hadn’t really been a concrete goal of mine until this year as I just had been expecting it to happen for about 3 years. Each year it didn’t happen it was extremely disappointing knowing all the work I put in and I “couldn’t even get under 2 minutes”. This year however proved to be not only a year where I smashed the barrier but I also learned to enjoy the opportunity of racing because I fully understood the other side of things where I was sitting on a bike for 90 minutes injured and not able to run. This season most of all leaves me excited and confident to attack my goals for next year. 📸 @silverfinephotos by @owen_comiskey_$
