First Day of School is quickly approaching! As you prepare, be sure you are dressed to impress. See below for dress code expectations and reminders. Go Owls! Uniform Expectations: Student uniforms will be strictly enforced at CHS. We ask parents to help ensure that students arrive each day dressed in accordance with their school's dress code so that valuable instructional time is not lost and students can remain focused on learning. Dress Code Reminders: In order to maintain a respectful and focused learning environment, the district has made a few important clarifications to our student dress code for this year: ~IDs (which are distributed the first day of school) must be worn on the collar at all times ~Skirts must touch the knee ~Closed toed and full back tennis, casual, or dress shoes of any color – no sandals, backless or low back shoes, platform shoes, heels, slippers/house shoes, mules, Heelys, light up shoes, Crocs, Uggs, ugg-like, jellies, rubber shoes, foam shoes, or boots of any kind. ~Sweatshirts/outerwear worn on campus must be one of the following: Solid white, solid maroon, or solid navy blue Maroon and white Chalmette High School-approved sweatshirts ~No AI/AR/Smart/Meta glasses. Sunglasses allowed only with a prescription from a physician. Reminder: Hoods are never allowed on campus. Illegal jackets will be confiscated upon entering campus. Students who are not in dress code will be asked to correct the issue before returning to class. In all circumstances, the principal will make the final decision as to whether a student’s dress or appearance is acceptable. AP Exam results are in, and we have so much to celebrate! 🎉 Congratulations to the 145 Chalmette High students who earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one Advanced Placement (AP) Exam this year! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to challenging yourself have truly paid off. To congratulate these students, our teachers and administrators spent the past two days delivering yard signs to recognize these incredible students. Approximately two-thirds of our AP students earned a score that qualifies them for college credit! In fact, CHS outperformed the state and national averages in most of our AP subject areas, a testament to the outstanding work happening in our classrooms every day. A special thank you goes to our outstanding AP teachers. Your dedication, expertise, and commitment to providing exceptional instruction continue to prepare our students for college and beyond.
