The thing that will set you apart from a dreamer and a success is buckling down and doing it. One thing I’ve learned is if you just do it, you will find more success then you ever have. (But of course don’t drain yourself either, there’s a balance.)

Part 2- Effective Action in your plot

I read this book for my script analysis class in freshman year of college, and while I read I couldn’t help but see how it could apply to writing techniques.

What happens to the body once you let your beloved flow down the river? Do you think they just disappear? Do you think they’re whisked up to heaven in a pillar of fire? Do you choose not to think of it?
I am the flower collector.
When your beloved’s body floats past the bend, I take. I leave your beloved, but I take the blooms. I fill my boat with the sweet scent that reminds me only of death.
You see me as the flower shop owner. But there is so much more to it in that that.
I am the flower collector.

In English class we learn to end the character development in which their “big flaw” is solved, but that shouldn’t always be the case. Characters should be like humans, and that means they should never stop growing, even after the story ends. Those are the characters that live in reader’s minds forever. :)

Hey, I’m back after an unprecedented three month long vacation of this account! I lost a lot of inspiration to post, and I’ve been very busy and haven’t found the time/energy to come on here. I was letting the follower and like counts get the best of me, and now I think I’m ready to just post when I want to and not care if people unfollow or don’t respond to what I post. Thanks to all those who stuck around and/or care about this account even after my absence! Love y’all 😘

I have been diagnosed with PTSD.

I found this quote and for weeks I have been debating whether to post it or not, and whether to share that I have gone through trauma. But I think it’s so important to speak out about mental illness, and I do want to share how writing has helped with my healing. It can be hard to live with PTSD, but when I write, I am able to understand my suppressed emotions and face the beast head on. Writing helps me heal. And I hope one day my writing will help others heal past their pain. And that’s why I love writing ☺️.

“Are you sure this is okay?”
“Yes. How else will we obtain freedom? Sometimes we must disobey to do what’s right.” He grabbed my hand, holding it tight. His hand was colder than the snow digging into my bare feet.
I took a shuddering breath, then nodded.
As one, we sprung into action, dashing towards the woods, our hands entwined. Each step was a sting to my heels. Each breath was an ice cube on my burning throat. I was growing numb not just from the cold, but the fear soaking into my bones.
“Just a little farther…” Xander pulled me along, his breathing labored.
A gunshot.
Xander’s hand grew slack. He was dead before he even hit the ground.
I gasped, watching the blood seep into the deep snow.
Another gunshot.
I jumped, coming out of my shock. With a gulp, I set out in a dead run towards the woods.
…what happens next?
.
Just wanna say that I’m proud I wrote that 😄

I think this could definitely be applied to anything we do in life. If you go into something negatively, you’re NEVER gonna have a good time with it. Put some hope in your narrative and maybe life will be a bit easier for you : )

Did you know that all of these cover photos are pictures I actually take? Living in Utah sure has its perks—there are a variety of views.
