Students in Mrs. Lemus’ Architecture 1 class learned about Antoni Gaudì’s architectural style, a pioneering blend of Catalan modernism and art nouveau. After studying specific works like Casa Battlò, Park Güell, and Sagrada Familia, students were issued a creative challenge to design a tree that was structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing and could support the weight of a book of post-it notes. Using only foil and air-dry clay, students worked in small teams to design their tree. They learned the art of teamwork and the challenge of working with limited materials, it was a fun way to jumpstart their creativity for future model building!
