4 of my favorite coffee shops in Osaka ☕️📍 SÖT Coffee Roaster (Osaka - Temmabashi)@sotcoffee.jp “SÖT” means sweet in Swedish, and their Nordic roasting style delivers exactly that. They roast in-house in small batches using only beans in the top 5% worldwide. Every pour-over comes hot AND with an extra batch on ice so you can taste both versions. Signature cheesecake is a must. (Also in Kitahama and Kyoto.)📍 Lilo Coffee (Osaka - Shinsaibashi)@lilocoffee Tiny standing-room spot in Amerikamura, open since 2014. 20+ single-origin beans with colorful tasting note cards, sourced from everywhere including their own farm in Myanmar. Baristas walk you through every cup. Open until 11pm — rare for specialty coffee in Japan. (Check out Lilo Coffee Kissa nearby too.)📍 Glitch Coffee Osaka (Osaka - Nakanoshima)@glitch_coffee_osaka Glitch Ginza made my last video’s honorable mentions, the Osaka location earned a full feature. Around 30 house-roasted single origins, each labeled with variety, altitude, and processing method. Baristas let you smell beans before choosing. Spacious, vinyl-playing, leather-couch vibes — probably the fanciest coffee experience you’ll ever have.📍 Chami (Nara)@chami.jp Worth the day trip. Specialty roaster near Kintetsu-Nara Station, minimalist interior, on-site roasting, and incredible pastries. 4 of my favorite coffee shops in Japan ☕️📍 Ogawa Coffee Lab (Tokyo - Shimokitazawa) @ogawacoffee_laboratory Not your typical café, this is a bean salon where you choose from 20+ single-origin coffees, pick your brewing method (AeroPress, siphon, pour-over), and watch baristas craft your cup. They also make killer scones with butter cream.📍 Tabi To Coffee (Tokyo - Asakusa) @tabi_to_coffee A hidden gem where you can taste coffees from roasters across Japan. The staff provides detailed comparisons between beans, making it perfect for exploring different regional roasting styles in one place. Intimate space near Tawaramachi Station.📍 Kurasu Ebisugawa (Kyoto) @kurasu.kyoto Started as an online shop in Sydney in 2013, now roasting and showcasing Japan’s finest coffees. The Ebisugawa location exclusively uses home brewing gear like AeroPress (no pro machines) to prove you can recreate café quality at home. (Their Kyoto Station stand is great too.)📍 Goodman Roaster (Kyoto) @goodman_roaster_kyoto Taiwanese light roast specialists with a Diedrich roaster on display. On the last day of my 7-day summer trip, I randomly walked into a coffee shop near my hotel called @adra_coffeeshop and it turned out to be an absolute gem.They serve Turkish coffee, espresso, and batch brew filter coffee. If you’re into that classic Italian-style espresso with darker roasts (which seems to be the standard across the Aegean), you’ll feel right at home.But what really surprised me was the breakfast. Their serpme (spread) breakfast was next-level. Plum jam, sun-dried tomatoes, and local favorites like boyoz and pişi (must-try Izmir staples) were the highlights. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options for both breakfast and dessert if you’re looking for something lighter.Highly recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Urla.P.S. The owners are a couple. One is a certified barista trainer, the other a coffee roaster. There’s even a small roasting area right next to the shop. by @oz_lar

Traveling doesn’t mean giving up good coffee ☕Just got back from Portugal 🇵🇹 and wanted to share a quick look at my travel coffee setup.An @aeropress a @1zpresso ZP6, and a @kintojapan tumbler, simple and more than enough to enjoy great coffee while traveling.For this trip, I brought beans from Berlin, a Colombian Pink Bourbon from La Virginia, produced by Rafael Aya and roasted by @fiveelephant … But it’s always worth checking out what local roasters have to offer too, you can often find something really unique .I eyeballed the dose before grinding since I didn’t pack a scale. It worked, but for better consistency, a small electronic scale is a useful addition to any travel kit.For the travel grinder of choice, I’d recommend something like the 1Zpresso Q2 or Q Air, both are smaller and can fit inside the AeroPress, which saves space.Finished the brew by the beach with a Pastel de Nata 🏖️Hard to beat that.Send me a DM if you’d like help building your own coffee setup 🤙#TravelCoffee #AeroPress #1Zpresso #FiveElephant #SpecialtyCoffee #PinkBourbon by @oz_lar

Favorite Coffee Shops in Krakow ☕Spent a few days in Kraków last week and was genuinely impressed by the specialty coffee scene. Here are the cafés that stood out the most:✨ Somnium Cafe Bar (Kazimierz)A multiroaster with a rotating selection of coffee from around Europe and vegan-friendly bakes. They also host cuppings and coffee workshops. Had my favorite pour-over of the trip here. The barista was very skilled and also really nice to talk to. They helped me choose a bag of beans to buy and bring back home to Berlin with me. They were the only cafe in this list to offer decaf which is a big plus in my book. @somniumcafebar 🥐 Megiddo Cafe & Bakery (Kupa 14)Next to the old synagogue, this bright café pairs beautifully balanced espresso with incredible pastries. They had four different options as batch brews. It’s always refreshing to have good brunch paired with good coffee. Definitely suggest grabbing the cinnamon bun. They were using a La Marzocco Strada for Espresso which shows that they mean business. @megiddo.cafe.bakery 🌿 Yellow Monkey Coffeeshop (Św. Gertrudy 17)Another multiroaster that offered a vide range of beans from around Europe. It sits right next to a lovely park so you can grab a cup to go and enjoy it in the park. Had a Washed Kenya pour over and was really happy with the quality of the beans and the skills of the barista. @yellowmonkeycoffee 🍳 Finca Brunch Cafe & Coffee (Józefa 11 & 30)Two locations: one for brunch, one for pure coffee focus. The kind of place you stay longer than planned and the only one that offered full on breakfast experience. The coffee was also nothing to scoff at, tried their Washed Rwanda that was available on the batch, it paired really nicely with the Turkish Eggs and Medovik I have ordered. @fincakrakow #KrakowCoffee #SpecialtyCoffeeHunt by @oz_lar

A few months ago, I had the idea of hosting a pop-up coffee shop. Last week, I finally made it happen—turning my house into a café for a day and hosting a mini party series called “House Blend”.Records spinning in the back, coffee brewing on demand, the whole thing was as DIY as it gets. But it proved one thing—this concept has room to grow. Now on the hunt for a bigger venue so even more people can be part of the next edition. I even had the chance to sample beans from these coffee shops at the Istanbul Coffee Festival last week – and let’s just say, I found some favorites! Here are my top 5 picks (in no particular order) for anyone looking to experience Istanbul’s specialty coffee culture. 🌍✨📍 1. Meet LabWith one of the best bean selections around, Meet Lab’s “Competition” series showcases the top tier of specialty coffee. Coffee DepartmentGot to know these guys at their festival booth, and I loved their team’s attentiveness and the complex flavors of their roasts.
