Hi, I’m Sarai!🌷This page is a new project dedicated to documenting and admiring nature, art and wildlife here in the Ozarks (Arkansas and Missouri). I did a similar photography project in 2020 at Las Vegas, Nevada, which is in progress to be posted on @herbs_archive . Since then I’ve moved away from Nevada to Arkansas and soon after my arrival become a mother to my most wonderful son/adventure buddy. I am always planning our next adventure and, wherever I go I have this desire to record and report what we’ve done and seen. I think it’s important because the more this area gets populated, the likelier the chance of the area being deforested and the loss of wildlife and native plant species disappearing. As someone who grew up in the desert and desired to see and sit under the shade of trees, listen to the songs of birds, and feel droplets of rain on my face, its been a dream come true with a bittersweet reality.

These photos are just a few of a collection I’m beginning to grow as I keep exploring the area with family and friends. It’s a fun project to keep me busy and creative, but more importantly to be a part of the history of the place I call home. Moving to Arkansas has been one of the best choices I’ve made for myself. It’s given me sanctuary, space, and purpose. It’s safe for my son and for many other moms and their children which is incredibly valuable for their developments. It provides hope that if they see nature, art and wildlife they’ll have the interest to keep it alive for generations. That reminds me of my favorite book to read at my son before bedtime, The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, when the Once-ler says near the end, “UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not”. So come along with me in this journey as I take note the beauty of our natural world. 🌎 📸 by @ozarkfieldnotes
