A beautiful soul has left a space in my heart that can never be filled.
Over 40 years of friendship & playing together…I keep thinking about how hard Ron fought. Even while going through chemo, he would show up & give 1000% to our Funk Filharmonik shows as well as his other gigs. Most people would’ve stepped away from it all, but Ron kept playing. He played his horn with heart and strength right up until the end.
When we lived together, I remember his incredible dedication to his trumpet. Music was such a deep part of who he was. In later years, I was equally touched by the love and devotion he gave to his family, wife Gina and daughter Hannah.
Vacations, ball games, concerts, dinner parties at their home!!!
What a great guy. Strong, gifted, loving, and deeply inspiring. He will be so greatly missed, and I feel incredibly grateful to have known him.
RIP my dear friend 🎺❤️🙏🏼🎶

Playing “God Bless the Child” live with Blood, Sweat & Tears at Hot August Nights in Reno was truly a special moment for me. To stand onstage with such an iconic band—and to follow in the footsteps of the many incredible trombone players who came before me—is an opportunity I’m deeply grateful for. My sister, who is nine years older than me, had these records, and I used to sneak into her room when she wasn’t home just to play them. Little did I know that one day I’d become part of the band’s history. With hot cars, hot music, and an amazing Reno crowd, it made for an unforgettable evening. Big thanks to the great sax player Anibal Rojas for capturing this video of part of my solo before he had to pick up his horn and play 😃🎶

Behind every unforgettable show is an incredible family. ❤️
Grateful for the band, crew, and every person working with happiness, laughter, and purpose to help Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band run like magic. It all starts with—and trickles down from—our great leader, whose heart, vision, and spirit set the tone for every single one of us. 🎸✨

We (BS&T) had the privilege of honoring two major band-related topics with one legendary song this past run.
.
A few weeks ago, David Clayton-Thomas sadly passed away. DCT wasn’t just another great singer—great singers themselves marvel at DCT, shake their heads, and say “How?” Forty thousand years from now, he will still be one of one.
.
Receiving the opportunity to follow in his footsteps as a performer has been like going to Harvard or Princeton for me. It has pushed me to grow well beyond what I thought was my own potential. When I have the honor of telling people that I’m the current touring lead singer of Blood, Sweat & Tears, what I’m really saying is that I have the honor of filling David’s chair—and what an honor that truly impossible mission has been.
.
Ray Charles was known to be DCT’s favorite singer. It was also a Ray Charles song that Glenn McClelland played for David Clayton-Thomas at an open audition, which led to him touring with DCT and BS&T for twenty years—and still to this day. So we simultaneously honored the 250th birthday of the United States, many of our fans are proud veterans, and the legacy of David Clayton-Thomas with an incredible arrangement by our musical director, Brad Mason, of “America the Beautiful.”
.
Grateful would be an understatement. I’m truly blessed, and God has been so good to me, my family, my extended family, this amazing band, and our crew.
.
We’ll be back out in a couple of weeks. Much, much, much love and a big thank you to David Clayton-Thomas, all BS&T members, passed and present, and the USA for paving the way letting this boy be a dreamer.
.

There’s something magical about playing “Carry On My Wayward Son” with the Casa Loma Rock Symphony under the direction of Maestro Paolo Busato in the castle gardens under the stars in Toronto.

Huge thanks to Nick Di Donato and the Liberty Entertainment Group for bringing us out to add our thing — and for keeping live music alive by employing so many incredibly well‑schooled musicians for these amazing evening concerts on the castle grounds. These open‑air shows run throughout the summer in Casa Loma’s historic gardens, with the castle as a backdrop and the city skyline in view — truly one of the most unique concert experiences in Toronto.
And of course, thank you to everyone who came out and rocked with us. Your energy made the night. If you haven’t checked out the Casa Loma night concerts in the garden yet, put it on your summer list — there’s nothing quite like hearing a full rock symphony echo through a 100‑year‑old castle.
