For me, Covering My King isn’t just about prayer cards.

My prayer has always been that it becomes part of someone’s everyday life.

That one card picked up before work becomes a daily reminder that someone is praying for him.

Sometimes, we wait until life gets difficult before we begin to intentionally pray. But I truly believe that every season deserves to be covered before God.

One thing I never want to leave to chance is my children’s knowledge of God’s Word.

There are so many things they’ll learn as they grow.

Some they’ll remember. Some they’ll forget. But my prayer has always been that God’s Word becomes something they carry for the rest of their lives.

That’s really where @oziomacards Covering Our Kids came from.

I wasn’t looking to just create another set of prayer cards for kids. I wanted to create something that would help families intentionally speak God’s Word over their children every single day.

Simple Bible verse cards for children that could become part of everyday life.

Ninety prayer cards.

Ninety opportunities to pray.

Ninety opportunities to hide God’s Word in their hearts.

Each one thoughtfully created around themes our children need as they grow: courage, kindness, wisdom, gratitude, obedience and so much more. Because I truly believe there will be moments when our children need more than our words.

With everything we’re intentionally teaching our children, are we being just as intentional about teaching them God’s Word?

Because beyond wanting them to do well in school and grow up to become amazing adults, I want them to know God for themselves.

I want my child to be somewhere I’m not and remember, “God is with me.”

I want fear to come and there is already a Word in their heart for it.

I want them to have decisions to make and know they can ask God for wisdom.

I want them to know who they are before the world starts trying to tell them who they should be.

And these things don’t just happen because we’re Christian parents.

We have to be intentional about them too. That’s really the heart behind Covering Our Kids.

It’s not about giving your child another thing to memorise. It’s about putting God’s Word in front of them again and again, in a way they can understand, say for themselves and eventually carry in their own hearts.

And yes, you can start even while they’re still in your womb. 🤍

As you were going through this carousel, who came to your mind first?

One of the things I love most about Covering My King is that it isn’t just for one person. It’s for the men God has placed in our lives, the ones who have loved us, led us, encouraged us, prayed for us, protected us, or simply been a blessing to us.

That’s why each card is more than just a prayer.

It has a declaration you can pray over them, a Bible verse they can hold on to, and a little space for you to write something from your heart.

You can keep the cards and pray over them each day, or you can hand them that day’s card as a reminder that someone is intentionally covering them in prayer.

Sometimes I wonder if every mum has the same quiet prayer.

How many times have you told yourself, “I’m okay” when you knew you weren’t? I used to do that too, a lot.

Looking back now, I realise I wasn’t healed. I had simply learnt how to function while I was hurting.

God, in His kindness, began showing me that there were still places in my heart He wanted to heal.

Maybe you’re carrying heartbreak.

Maybe it’s disappointment.

Maybe it’s betrayal.

Maybe it’s something you’ve never told anyone.

Sometimes I think we underestimate the things our children carry away from us.

Do you know that even today, I still catch myself saying things today because I heard my parents say them growing up, and it makes me wonder…

What are our children hearing from us every day? Because one day, they’ll grow up like us too, They’ll leave home.

They’ll have their own families.

And I honestly believe some of the words they carry into that season will be the words they first heard in ours.

That’s why we need to become more intentional, not with the intention to raise perfect children but because we need to raise children who know where to turn when life gets hard.

Children who know what God says before the world starts telling them something different.

What really is intentional love?

Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever really asked myself that question before.

I think we tend to think about the big things, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Buying gifts, Planning surprises etc

And those things are lovely, but lately, I’ve been wondering if intentional love is also found in the everyday things.

The things nobody sees, Like remembering to pray for someone, because you want God’s hand over their life.

I honestly think that’s such a beautiful way to love someone.

That is really the heart behind Covering My King.

It was never just about creating prayer cards. It was about helping us become more intentional about covering the men we love in prayer.

This morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about a season of my life when I kept telling myself, “You should be over this by now.”

Maybe you’ve said those words yourself too.

You’ve stop crying as much.

You’ve gotten busy again.

You now laugh again.

You go to work.

You show up for people.

And because life keeps moving, you assume your heart has moved on too. Funny because, That’s what I thought.

Until one unexpected moment showed me there were still places in my heart that needed God’s healing.

I used to think healing meant pretending it didn’t affect me anymore.

Now I know healing is having the courage to bring every hurting place to God, even the ones you’ve hidden for years.

So if you’re starting this new week with something you’ve been carrying for a long time, Don’t carry it by yourself anymore.

Bring it to God, He knows how to heal the places we’ve tried so hard to hide.

I’m praying that this week won’t just be another busy week for you, it will be a week where your heart experiences God’s healing too.
