The MOMENT you’ve all been waiting for….CLOSET REVEAL 🙌🏾🙌🏾

After 10 (very) long weeks, the building phase is over 🙌🏾 This closet tested me in so many ways, but as always I’ll never be defeated. Bruised and battered, imma finish what I start.

First of many other DIY projects, but (construction) hats off to the biggest, as a mere novice. 👷🏾‍♀️💅🏾

What a year it’s been.

This time last year, I was advised to go to the emergency room for a blood transfusion and that’s when it hit me — I’ve been ignoring my health for so long, that I have to be hospitalized. My first 3-day hospital stay after 33 years.

Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions. Getting my fibroids removed and feeling great to then being hospitalized, again, for a week, and being diagnosed with #ulcerativecolitis and being depressed — my first real bout of depression. The light within me disappeared. I was in so much constant pain that I didn’t think it would get better. Lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks (it all came back 🙄), barely having the strength to walk and stand —the absolute worst.

But I thank God, for keeping me. For reminding me this is just another season and the only way out, is through. I thank my mom dropping everything to rock me to sleep and wipe my tears away. She’s the GOAT.

I’m rediscovering patience, with myself. I’m giving myself grace for not taking my health seriously. I’ve learned what it means to really advocate for myself and listen to what my body needs.

Life lately has been full—of lessons, love, enjoyment and PEACE. Appreciating where I am today and apologizing to the 30somethings I use to call old at my age because this is the youngest I’ve ever felt, okay?! 💅🏾
