-Young Black Man-

It feels good to be young, black and gifted,
But at the same time I’m a target cause I’m young, black and gifted.

I guess, that’s just my kind of blue but I stay jazzy cause I know they still need ya dude. I gave birth to cool.

I am culture
to the culture less.

I am progress
to the motionless.

I am love
to the emotionless.

I am hope
When all faith has left.
Cause I will be me
when there is nothing else.

Men lie,
Women lie
and numbers do too.
To these statistics I’m an outlier on everything that they knew.

So lets have a round of applause
To the king that I am.
It feels good to be a young black man.
