Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated with the moon. From playing peek-a-boo with the man in the moon, to playing astronaut with my cousin, to the line in the sweet song Feivel sings to his family, the moon has had an abiding presence in my life. As an adult, I now notice it's daily changes and observe it's cycles. Tonight's full moon is an excellent opportunity to let go of things that don't serve us and set intentions for the things we want. While it may seem silly, observing this simple practice allows our brains to think differently about ways we might feel stuck, and this alone can start to shift our experience of our problems. What do you want to feel less of? Take a minute to give words to those things and imagine them floating to the moon in a balloon. What do you want to feel more of? Imagine those words filling up a balloon over your head. When it is full, pop it and allow all those feelings to wash over you and fill up your body. Take a minute to notice anything that might have shifted, no matter how subtle. All big changes start with small actions.
