BROTHER WAYNE KRAMER!!! I'm a little late on posting this, but I had the honor to watch Brother Wayne Kramer of MC5 speak about his music, life, and influence on the industry before performing the 50th anniversary of his album Kick Out the Jams. Much like Hendrix, he helped pave the way for how hard rock music is still played today, through effects, and distortion. He's also been called the Godfather of Punk by many partially due to his leftist political ties, and anti-establishment lyrics. The Stooges would soon follow in their path.

He influenced many of the best musicians including Led Zeppelin, Tom Morello, and Jack White.

When asked about how he see's the world today, his answer was surprisingly upbeat. he said, "It's actually better than ever. We have the best medicine. Crime, war, and violence is lower than ever, and science is better than ever, but like always, there's always room for improvement." I also received a copy of his new book, "The Hard Stuff." I'm only 100 pages in, but so far it paints a good portrait of 1960's America, especially Detroit. We explore many aspects of the country at the time such as the auto industry, and the amount bigotry he witnessed at the time, which resulted in the band known as MC5 who were heavily inspired by what was going on at the time. I highly recommend giving this a read, and picking up a copy of his album, "Kick Out the Jams." Keep rocking everyone!
