just us (and the fly inside my wall), 2023
Wool, mohair, linen, cardboard and wire
108 x 65 x 58cm
Open studios 🪰
This piece is the first tufted sculpture i’ve made, it came from an encounter i had with a fly several months ago which left me feeling sort of haunted.
After the fly got into the walls of my room we lived out the rest of its days in forced harmony - i endured the occasional jump scare it put me through in the coming days, weeks.
The final time i heard the buzz was a month after our initial encounter. It was as chilling as ever.
