We released the hounds the other day - okay, the guineas …

For 7 months we have worked to train these fierce predator protectors & tick eaters to stay on our farm …

For about 3-4 months we kept the guineas in their moveable coop 24/7. It was moved throughout the farm every 1-2 weeks.

Next, we started letting 3-5 out every few days & then everyday. We noticed those guineas stated close to the coop.

At 7 months we opened the door and prayed they’d all come back. All 20 were on their roosting bar that evening.

We decided to keep them locked up again for another 2 days and let them out again, success!

Guineas are loud. Many find them rather annoying. But, that noise is the farm alarm for predators & well, people on our property! The real reason we got them was for tick control. Which is why we really want them out in the fields and in the woods doing their natural thing - eating 4,000+ ticks in a day!

They also love …
Mosquitoes. Fleas. Stinks bugs. Grasshoppers. Ants. Crickets. Caterpillar‘s. Beatles, and yes, Snakes!

That's quite a sturdy coop!! I really wanted to like guineas. I know how useful they are. But we couldn't take the noise one day longer than the 6mo we had them 😂 I still twitch hearing them and absolutely watched this video on mute 😂
