From August 2023 - Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska has 1,045 glaciers that cover 2,055 square miles of the park, or 27%. The glaciers include tidewater glaciers, which interact with ocean saltwater. The park has 11 glaciers that reach the sea, including eight within the bay, and some that only reach the sea at high tide. The park’s glaciers are spread across 3.3 million acres, and many are visible along the shores of the bay.
