What a journey! I have so much to say, but I had to sit with my emotions before sharing.
This piece has given me so much. ✨️
From reconnecting with myself and dance to my cast, whom I've met through various stages of dance life.
To creating again after feeling stuck for so long and grappling with my anxiety around being seen.
Before starting this process, I was dealing with residual grief, which somehow led to this crippling self-doubt. I'd forgotten who I was.
I procrastinated in every way when making my decision to submit for the show, wondering if I still belonged here. Not to preach, but I had to remember God did not give me the spirit of fear but called me to walk in boldness.
Creating this piece helped me find my way back home. To me. To spirit. To the dance. 💕
To my cast, @bee_jay_gee @kimberleyyjoy @meet_msrobyn @fatjesus2therescue @haleygrove I'm filled with gratitude. thank y'all for seeing me and trusting my vision.
And @clubnycent @kingchuckaduck thank you for creating another space for artists to express themselves. It's truly necessary to our community.
