پلیس ترکیه در چمدان دو مسافر ایرانی که با پرواز از ایران وارد فرودگاه استانبول شده بودند، یک کیلو و ۲۲۲ گرم مواد مخدر کشف کرد. این مواد با لایه‌ای از شکلات پوشانده شده و در بسته‌بندی‌هایی شبیه شکلات‌های معمولی جاسازی شده بودند. هر دو مسافر که یک زن و یک مرد هستند، پس از دستگیری با حکم مرجع قضایی روانه زندان شدند به گزارش هابرتورک در روز شنبه ۱۰ اکتبر، مأموران شعبه مبارزه با جرایم مواد مخدر پلیس استانبول هنگام بررسی رفتار مسافران و شناسایی موارد مشکوک در فرودگاه، به دو مسافر ایرانی ظنین شدند و آن‌ها را زیر نظر گرفتند این دو نفر که هویتشان با حروف اختصاری «E.A» و «D.K» اعلام شده، به‌ترتیب ۳۴ و ۲۵ سال سن دارند. بررسی‌های پلیس نشان داد آن‌ها برای جلب نکردن توجه مأموران، در فرودگاه جدا از یکدیگر حرکت می‌کردند مأموران سرانجام زمانی که این دو مسافر قصد داشتند با تاکسی فرودگاه را ترک کنند، آن‌ها را متوقف کردند و برای بازرسی به بخش کنترل انتقال دادند. در بررسی چمدان‌های آن‌ها، بسته‌هایی شبیه شکلات‌های معمولی در میان لباس‌ها پیدا شد این بسته‌ها از نظر ظاهری و نوع بسته‌بندی به شکلات‌های موجود در بازار شباهت داشتند، اما بررسی محتویات آن‌ها نشان داد که مواد مخدر با لایه‌ای از شکلات پوشانده شده‌اند پلیس در مجموع یک کیلو و ۲۲۲ گرم مواد مخدر کشف و ضبط کرد دو متهم پس از انجام مراحل بازجویی در اداره پلیس به
