if you want my chest cheat sheet, comment CHEST chest day and my set up if you wanted to bring it up ( after frequency for a period) OR an advanced guy, then trying to squeeze out more growth from an already a decent chest If doing 12-13 sets of chest , i start on a high incline press, this changes the look front, side and from Behind ( last slide rear shot can see chest from rear ) the reason I start with it , your loading on flat work doesn’t drop as much done second , vs these done second, my goal is max loading across movements as that’s reflective the ability to recruit muscle fibres best , if stuff is really dropping off as sessions go on, exercise order needs evaluating to optimise that. If don’t have a high incline machine, I favour a smith , don’t worry it doesn’t converge as we hit that with the cables. I mostly built mine on the smith doing 5 plate high incline presses. High incline db presses are even better than the smith, but getting them in place is annoying. this is the only place in a session I accept an ascending resistance profile. Second: flat press variation with a descending resistance profile , I like something with a foot start so I can get a really deep stretch but it also needs to converge slightly . If don’t have either of these , pick flat db press , as allows for the stretch, converging aspect and resistance profile. For isolation movements I am doing them across 2 movements , a low to high cable raise where I bring my arm across the centre line. And then a fly or pec dec with descending profile . After that I’m getting extra lateral and tricep iso work in , but they get hit again in a few sleeps when they are the star of the show ( when the week has a chest day and then an arm/shoulder day )
