Marilyn Manson kicked off his series of 'Antichrist Superstar' 30th anniversary shows last night (October 14th) in New Orleans, Louisiana, bringing a mix of anthemic fan favorites and beloved deep cuts to the stage.⁠ ⁠ The performance at the Fillmore in NOLA — billed as "An Evening With Marilyn Manson: Celebrating 30 Years of Antichrist Superstar"⁠ — was the first of a two-night stand in the city where Manson undertook the infamously chaotic recording sessions that resulted in the landmark 1996 shock-rock opera.⁠ ⁠ The night returned a bunch of 'Antichrist' songs to the setlist for the first time in years. Most notably "Kinderfeld," "Deformography" and "Minute of Decay" — along with the era-appropriate "Apple of Sodom," from the 'Lost Highway' soundtrack — were performed live by Manson for the first time since 1997. "1996" had been stuck in a time capsule since 2012, prior to its reemergence last night.
