And also because this song has been my reality everyday for the past several months. I normally wouldn't post this rough video, but I'm hoping I look back on this a year from now and smile at the memories of this period.😄

There are better ways I would've loved to mark turning 21, and there were too many reasons for me not to post today; from the fact that I've never been one who was big on birthdays, to the fact that I was in class from 8am till almost 5pm, to the fact that I have exams I'm preparing for, to the fact that my neighbours were making noise and wouldn't let me film a video in peace😅😂 but I couldn't just let the day go by without commemorating somehow, just for the sake of memories.😊 So enjoy this rough, rushed, unrehearsed, "lazy" version of one of my favourite songs ever. I'll make a proper one one of these days, when I get the chance.

And if you want to give me a birthday gift, just pray for me. I'm going through one of the toughest times of my life in medical school this period.😅

Last day of the year!!!💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾And that means the last blog post of 2020! This is the last "click the link in my bio" before 2021 lol. I just really wanted to thank you all for your support this year, since I restarted my blog few months back. I know this year wasn't what many of us planned, but I also know if you look deep down, you'll find something to be thankful for. I for one (almost feel bad to say it because I know many people had it rough this year) know that this year wasn't actually so bad after all for me. It was one of my best years regardless, and I'm super grateful! I'm also thankful for you, that you're here, still alive, not taken by the pandemic. And I pray you have a happy new year ahead! It's rough, I know. Not exactly the best cover but I'm learning to be more spontaneous and less of a perfectionist.😂 Might archive this later but until then, I decided, even with sleep in my eyes, to share this because while this is probably the most used Christmas song out there, it's one of my favourites. I don't think many of us actually take time to listen to/study the lyrics. They're very true.

This blog post was looooong overdue. I was struggling with how to best to convey all I had drunk in the past couple of days.

These are a couple of some of my other tweets and the last slide is an excerpt from the latest blog post. Bit late to the party, am I not?
(Well at least on my feed anyway, I've been around on my stories. However I got a push to put this on here as well; I've been far more active on Twitter these past couple of weeks.)

This was meant to go up since last week but... I guess after a long, hard week of watching videos and hearing stories that made my heart bleed, it got a bit too much, I got overwhelmed, tucked tail and ran.😅 For someone who loves to talk (and write, especially considering that I own a blog), I've been short of words for a long time now. Nothing can adequately explain or express all that I've felt; a weird mix of numbness and a wealth of emotion, mental exhaustion and adrenaline all together, perhaps? I have no idea. It's been a lot.

When I made these tweets a week ago, I had no idea what would happen in the following days: all the deaths, vandalism and looting, the massacre at Lekki toll gate barely 3 days later and all that's followed in its wake from the opposition of the government, even to the point of denying some of these events.

Even now, I have no properly articulated words for this caption, I jus dey type dey go. I'm rambling (but with my fingers). The only thing I know how to do at this point, and the only thing that's made me feel better and kept me sane, is to pray. I know the events of these past weeks have caused many to doubt God, ask where He is, wonder if He's there, but somehow I've found these events pushing me even further into His arms, personally. It's crazy. It's been crazy for real. But I just want to encourage all of us, anyone who might be reading this and might need to hear it, don't lose hope. Don't lose faith. Keep speaking up, keep praying. It might not make sense now but e sure me die say one day, eventually, we will see what He meant when He said the plans He has for us are of good, not of evil.

Eternal rest for the departed, comfort to their families & friends, justice, peace upon Nigeria and protection upon us all, amen.🙏🏾 God bless and keep you. ❤️

~ What if somehow, everything you'd ever believed to be true was actually false? ~

What would you do if one day you suddenly realized that you have been living a lie?
I've been asked this question a couple of times and it's mostly always with regard to my belief (faith) in God.

In today's blog post, I attempt to explain the grave dangers of believing a lie (using one of my all-time favourite childhood animations) and at the same time answer this question.

So I have considered and thought very much on it, and while I personally have enough evidence to know that it is true (today is not the day for this story but maybe in another post😅), I've realized that I have absolutely nothing to lose believing the things that I do.😂😂😂 Let's just say that somehow, by some chance in the universe, all I have believed about God, that He exists, is real and true, turns out to be a lie. I'll have zero regrets because there's absolutely no harm that my faith could bring or has brought. There's nothing it has caused me to miss out on or prevented me from achieving. And at the end of the day, that's it.

But how about vice versa? What if the tables are turned and I've spent all my life believing the opposite only to later find out (when I die) that all this "God talk" really was true? Can I really say the same for myself here that "I have nothing to lose" or "zero regrets"? And is that IT? Where it ends?

So this is sorta like a continuation of/offshoot from one of my previous posts. I had sooooo much to say on this happiness/gratitude/contentment topic,😅😂 as someone who's personally struggled with all of that, and so I decided to make it into two parts since it couldn't fit into one blog post (well, I mean, it could, but not a lot of people would sit through and actually read to the end lol).

I've very recently been wondering, what is it about the things we don't have that makes us tie our self-importance/worth, and identity or happiness to them exactly? Does anyone know? 😂 I seriously need answers so if anyone has any, kindly share in the comments; perhaps someone else can also glean from your fountain of knowledge and wisdom.💆🏾‍♀️ Don't air me plis.😪🤧🤲🏾🤲🏾😂
