roof plan, 2nd floor plan, ground floor plan, and basement plan. the community center’s program includes 4 full size basketball courts (two are dropped 1/2 level, and two are raised and open-air), a cafe, two exhibition spaces, two classrooms, a gym, offices, and multi-purpose flexible spaces. the project is based on a long-span truss system that works both vertically and laterally to form 3-dimensional vector trusses.
really interesting to re-imagine inhabiting these shared spaces now, as we are 6 months deep in the pandemic. i guess the open-air basketball courts might be good for social distancing protocols 😂.
