A 23-year-old woman was fatally shot early Thursday morning at a home in downtown Baltimore, according to police.

At approximately 1:52 a.m. on October 29, 2026, Central District patrol officers responded to the unit block of North Calvert Street for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located the woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medics responded to the scene and pronounced her dead.

Police took a 24-year-old man into custody at the scene for questioning. His connection to the shooting has not been disclosed.

Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
