Today we laid to rest my grandfather. Of all the people I look up to, I aspire to none more than him. Even though he suffered with FSHD, which bound him to a wheelchair for the last 30 years, and had deteriorated all of the muscles in his body, he never complained. He was always happy. Always smiled. And more than anyone I have known, he cared more for others than himself. He’s been suffering physically for quite some time, enough so that we wondered why he hadn’t passed on yet, but that also typified his life. He was willing to continue suffering, if it meant he could help, love or bring joy to anyone else. He was always willing to sacrifice and will be greatly missed. I can’t count how many games of Scrabble we played, seen in the second photo. And the final photo is a final bonk on the head. For years he hasn’t been able to hug or shake hands, so he’d greet us or say good bye with a bonk on the head. Rest in peace dear grandpa. We love you and will miss you.

I’m happy to hear what a great man he was and how much goodness he shared. You were lucky 🍀 to have him all these years. Ty for sharing. He crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge only to make others smile on the other side. Till you meet again. Sending you and your family tight hugs 🤗
