Very, very excited to take you back to the Lyrian Sea as soon as I can. Preorders for TYRANT are open now - and what happens next is anyone’s guess…except me, I know what happens. And I’m dying for you to experience it yourselves. 🏴‍☠️

What are you most looking forward to in TYRANT? (Do not say tempest eyes istg)

A librarian in Darien, Connecticut, has been placed on administrative leave after a family alleged she ignored their 17-month-old Black son, Messiah, while interacting with White children during a puppet activity at Darien Commons on October 3.

Messiah’s father, Micah Whitaker, posted a video of the encounter on TikTok, and it has since gone viral. He said the librarian put the puppet away at one point, then brought it back out to engage with other children as they began leaving.

Darien Library has hired an independent law firm to investigate. The Norwalk NAACP is also reviewing the incident. According to the NAACP, the librarian initially said she had not noticed Messiah standing to the side.

Ms. Rachel commented on the video, saying she would be honored to meet Messiah.

In 44 days my life is going to change forever. And I need advice.

This November I’ll be having a below knee amputation of my left leg. And I’m terrified.
Like many people I don’t do well with unknowns, and the number of unknowns that come with this surgery are endless. While I have a bit of practical knowledge around the surgery and the rehab timeline, there are many things I have very little knowledge on and other things I’m sure I haven’t thought of to even ask.

So to any amputee who is willing to share, I have a few questions:

If you had 44 days to prepare for your amputation, what would you do? What would you make sure you had ready? At home or for your hospital stay?

If you knew you had 44 days before losing a limb, what support systems would you put in place before hand? Many people say “Let me know if you need anything!” and I know they mean it, but I have no idea what I’ll need or what to ask for. And in the thick of it after the amputation, I’ll be in survival mode just trying to get used to my new life, so I won’t be thinking of how to tell people how they can be helpful.

So if you knew you had 44 days, what would you do?
