After a busy week in lockdown I’ve finally cast my vote for Bird of the Year and I have chosen the Bellbird / korimako 💗
The korimako has a special place in my heart and childhood memories. We would often visit my great uncle in the South Island countryside. His place was, and still is, just magical. Waking up on a misty morning to the bellbirds singing in the tōtaras… pure bliss.
Anyway, this amazing bird deserves to win - and surprisingly has never won before!!
If you haven’t voted yet, get to www.birdoftheyear.org.nz to have your say.
Voting closes end of tomorrow- so get in and have your say. 🙂
Which bird will you vote for and why? 💗
