Hatters gonna hat!

What's with this spotted deer (Axis axis) buck and this suave headgear?
Is it venturing towards high fashion?
Is branches the new summer hat? Apparently not, it seems.

Two things could have happened here. Most obvious could be that he snuck through a tight spot and the branches got stuck.

Another reason would be that this buck - probably in the mating season - was spreading its scent to females and competing males by thrashing grass and shrubs alike. Whence came these branches that stuck on its head, increasing its swag over 9000.
