In my recent survey, many of you lovely people said...
you were here for my decorating advice, so I thought I should take a minute and spell out my design principles:
No. 1 Choose happy colors that make you smile!
No. 2 Mix patterns for interest, especially florals.
No. 3 Give heirlooms and antique collections pride of place.
No. 4 Let balance, tradition, and symmetry provide restraint.
No. 5 Arrange furniture for conversation.
No. 6 Shop auctions, thrifts, and consignment for one of a kind deals, but always invest in classics with longevity.
No. 7 Fill your rooms with mementos, art, and decor that reflect your personality and provides inspiration.
No. 8 Don't forget details matter!
No. 9 Barren walls are a missed opportunity.
No. 10 Everyone should have a home that delights them, but it my take some time and creativity to get there!
