I realized a while ago that I never properly posted about RENAISSANCE last year. I have a bad habit of documenting on my story and then never following up to post it on my page. After a certain amount of time passed, I decided to wait until the one year anniversary. Today, August 30.
RENAISSANCE came at such a perfect time for me. It wove together so many threads of my life into a beautiful jubilee. I felt honored and privileged to experience @beyonce’s joyous triumph firsthand.
It is not an exaggeration to say that night in Levi’s Stadium will always be one of the best experiences of my life. I find myself saying more often than I care to admit that I wish I could go back and experience it again. When Spotify Wrapped comes around this year, RENAISSANCE may very likely be my most listened to album for a third year in a row.
There is a serious argument to be made for the cathartic role this album, this concert and Beyoncé’s artistry as whole played in transitioning me fully out of the pandemic. Helping me process that it was not only alright to feel okay, but it was essential to revel in our joy, to celebrate life and the heroes within our communities who made it all possible.
It was a renewal in every sense of the word.
