Change of scene and a force to be reckoned with, granma came out of a hip opp and straight into delivering the litter, 8 weeks ago!

Playful, fearless and they bounce back.
Enjoying; the sky, trees, fresh air, the nurturing, care and cuddles, and the softest belly’s, fresh ideas, new perspectives, peaceful, soothing and reenergising environments. A reboot for feeling the tugs of creativity.

I had the best day on the best day to be in the best city in the world. Can’t imagine a more meaningful way to mark my new relationship with running than to serve as run support for former Army Master Sergeant @cedrickingmsg — a purple-hearted double above-the-knee amputee due to stepping on an IED. A victory for me to just make it to the start, crossing the finish with Cedric was a peak never-will-I-forget life experience. Rewinding back a year and half, my spine surgeon said I should forget about running. Forget that, I thought. So, I baked up a plan and began plotting my way in. For the first seven months of my spinal fusion recovery, only slow walking. I began PT on month 8, with light strength training starting a few weeks after that. Since then, I’ve been in my home gym by the four o’clock hour, every single day aside from a handful of exceptions. To celebrate 1 year post-op, I ran my first mile, a slow one with @dan_churchill. From there, I patiently pursued a six-month relationship with my treadmill, careful to never push with a first-for-me less-is-best philosophy. As a consequence of caution, I can’t say I was exactly ready for the NYC marathon, as my run training consisted of two weekly 5-mile run-walks. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go. And I’m delighted I did. The spine did fine. And despite my lack of aerobic conditioning, my body held up long enough to cross the finish line. Striding alongside Cedric is the how. Taking my strength from his kept me connected to my higher power. The why. While running again was my goal, Cedric confirmed that my purpose is service. Now 60 and now on the other side of my season of forced repose, I have greater clarity on what matters. Not so much about ego gratification anymore, what wakes me up is more giving of myself to other people. If you want a big and beautiful life, make it about something much larger than yourself. Thx @achilles_international for your incredible work. @joechura for recruiting me into this adventure & @cedrickingmsg for your strength, and infectious inspiration. And thank you NYC.
