👑✈️ Thailand’s Queen Suthida made aviation history on October 8 by completing a 41-minute solo flight in a Swedish-built JAS 39C Gripen fighter jet at Royal Thai Air Force Wing 7.

The 48-year-old former flight attendant has logged over 1,188 flight hours since 2010 and completed extensive training before the flight.

Her husband, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, watched from the airbase and presented her with flowers and a Golden Gripen Order patch after landing.

She is now Thailand’s first female Gripen pilot.

What do you think of her remarkable achievement?

On October 12, 1987, “So Emotional was released as the third single from Whitney’s second album “Whitney”.

The song was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly (who also wrote “Like a Virgin” for Madonna and “True Colors” for Cyndi Lauper). It was a commercial success, peaking at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it became her sixth consecutive number one, breaking a record originally set by Elvis Presley two decades earlier (!) and tying her with The Beatles and The Bee Gees for the most consecutive number one singles at the time.

A remixed version by Junior Vasquez and Shep Pettibone later sent the song to #1 on the Dance Club Play chart.

I’ll admit, it feels so weird to do this life alone. I’ll even hazard a guess and say most of us who find ourselves here would agree, it’s not what we were chasing in the beginning.

I called one of my best friends the other day and heard all about his son, his brilliant wife, and how the chickens they were raising had just laid their first eggs. A beautiful life.
Such a juxtaposition to the one I have.
Ironically, he’s younger than me and living the life I always felt predestined for. The one I felt drawn to. Maybe even chased and charmed my way towards (admittedly, at the detriment of past lovers).

And yet, here I am, at the furthest point from the thing I wanted the most.
Drifting further out, it feels a bit like a Wes Anderson movie. Me, looking through binoculars back toward the shore of a rainbow (Row)-colored normality. Commiserating with my what-ifs and if-onlys, wondering how I ended up in this boat by myself. Wondering where my dog went.

Who knew happiness could be found in the opposite of what I thought I wanted? Maybe still do.
Not lonely, just alone. 🚣🏻
