Every year I have the opportunity to travel to DC for the @capitoldcfestival ✨ Each year I’ve gone, the festival has grown and evolved, as has my role in it.

Last year, for the first time, I offered to guide the audience through a somatic meditation to prime them for viewing the dance films from a more embodied state, possibly shifting their experience of kinesthetic empathy. The practice was really well received and @jenraydancinema invited me back to expand on the concept this year.

It’s an incredible feeling to have all the parts of me feel present and valuable in one space. The dance me. The fashion me. The coach me. The healer me. The artist me. Etc.

Every year the festival energizes me and inspires me. Dance on film/for camera is such a vast area of art and I love seeing all the ways it manifests through different artists’ visions.
