Happy 7 years to @do.what_moves.you 🤍✨ Couldn’t help but create a flashback edit of this journey! 🥹 . . I grew up learning Bharatanatyam from the age of four and for the longest time, that was the only kind of dance form I knew. Even when I danced to western or folk at work events, I was always told I had a “classical touch.” My movements were rigid, my energy was low, I lacked flow and honestly I was hesitant and far from confident. Then came October 17th 2019, the day I decided to document my dance journey here on Instagram, not knowing where it would take me. I just knew I wanted to get better. And I kept going. ❤️ Through learning from youtube videos, online classes during the pandemic, countless hours of practice, experimenting with different styles, creating my own choreographies, attending dance workshops, pushing my boundaries and showing up even when progress felt slow. Somewhere along the way, I found more than just better movement. I found freedom, expression and a confidence I didn’t have when I started. And this is exactly what @do.what_moves.you has always meant to me. To follow what moves you, keep showing up for it and let it transform you in ways you never imagined. 7 years in. Still learning. Still growing. Still moving. And I am nowhere near done. 🥹❤️🧿 I’m thankful to all my teachers and grateful for all my cheerleaders. 🫂✨ [ Dance, Journey, Growth, Self-reflection, Training, FYP, Explore, Transformation, Expressing, Before after, Instagram journey, Dance Workshop, Trending, Love for Dance, Consistency, Inspiration, Confidence ] #dance #reels #fyp #explorepage #growth
Autumn is a gentle reminder that change can be beautiful. 🍂 A season to slow down, enjoy the little things, and find magic in the simplest moments. Here are two little illustrations inspired by the colours, warmth, and quiet beauty of autumn. Happy autumn, everyone! 🤎🍁 🥜🐿️ . . . . . #childrenbookillustration #illustration_best #childrenillustration #pickmotion #illustration
Happy Edge Day to all who celebrate! I grew up a lost kid without a dad and this subculture, these people, and hardcore punk rock music in general showed up for me in ways I don’t think anyone will ever know. By following that path I found a way of living and a moral compass that has stayed with me even though I am no longer straight edge. I repped it violently and wholeheartedly when I was younger and I can admit I became the cliché of being true till 21, but what I learned and kept with me through straight edge as a kid and now as an adult in sobriety free from drugs and alcohol, stays with me and has taught me a new way of being true til death. Shout out to the discipline it takes to live this lifestyle for those that were straight edge for a season or continue to be to this day! And shout out Ten Yard Fight and everyone up in Boston for starting Edge Day back in ‘99!
