I grew up a lost kid without a dad and this subculture, these people, and hardcore punk rock music in general showed up for me in ways I don’t think anyone will ever know.
By following that path I found a way of living and a moral compass that has stayed with me even though I am no longer straight edge.
I repped it violently and wholeheartedly when I was younger and I can admit I became the cliché of being true till 21, but what I learned and kept with me through straight edge as a kid and now as an adult in sobriety free from drugs and alcohol, stays with me and has taught me a new way of being true til death.
Shout out to the discipline it takes to live this lifestyle for those that were straight edge for a season or continue to be to this day!
And shout out Ten Yard Fight and everyone up in Boston for starting Edge Day back in ‘99!

Dude, random but did you ever go to Deja One on Long Island in Mineola back in the late 90s for any shows? I used to go every weekend for punk/ska/hard-core shows.
