And for 2022’s Grand Finale, apparently I have a pneumothorax that refuses to stay down after a chest drain and will require an operation most likely.

I had a sharp pain in my chest 2 weeks ago, was taken into hospital and told I had a spontaneous pneumothorax in my left lung (known as a lung pop or lung collapse). I was told it was just “really bad luck”, I actually laughed and said “well of course it is”.

Due to the fact it was small I was told it should hopefully go on it’s own. 2 weeks later it got noticeably bigger and I had a chest drain placed to help get rid of it on Friday.
On Saturday afternoon I suddenly felt like I couldn’t swallow and was under water and the pain was next level.
Turns out I developed surgical emphysema.

They removed the chest drain last night and I was told this morning after an X-ray that the pneumothorax has returned and the emphysema doesn’t seem to be getting better.
So apparently now I need an operation on my left lung.

I’ll be honest: I am SO OVER all of this “bad luck” and really am very upset that:
I’ve been separated from my babies, especially Skye (I feel like my right arm has been taken).
I won’t get to spend the first night in our new home tomorrow (yes moving day is TOMORROW)… a house we had grafted and worked SO HARD for.

I’m trying to pump but my milk supply doesn’t seem to be great, and my mum/Jason are bringing Skye in for 2 of her feeds.
I’m panicking I’ll run out of milk but will keep pumping and hope for the best I guess.

I can’t do anything about it all and I’m stuck here for the foreseeable… I am sad, angry, frustrated and I miss my babies more than words can say.
Beyond grateful for some unbelievable people in our lives at the moment, because we admit it - we really need the help just now.

2022: You have been one of “unlucky” Health scares within our family, thanks for the lessons… we’ve learnt them now, so please just stop.
2023: YOU BETTER BE NICE TO US.

I asked Jason to take this photo because I got really upset and panicked that this would be the last time I’d feed my girl. I hope not.
😓❤️

Try using a warm flannel when you pump, it may help your body realise it needs to keep producing. The warmth represents a baby.
