Your annual reminder that science and faith can often be in agreement 🙏🏾 Listening to Gospel music definitely has its health benefits!
To my Therapists seeing Christian clients:
Dr. Nwosu has encountered some clients that were averse to meditation due to religious beliefs. In such cases, Dr. Nwosu considers prescribing singing and/or listening to faith-based music as a part of treatment homework. Singing/Listening to music can be a very mindful exercise with more buy in because it will align with their values/beliefs. Just remember it should be nonjudgmental…they need not focus on the quality of their singing… instead focus on fully participating in the music. 🙌🏾🎵🎤🎶
