Wow, I never thought my piece on not being a mom would get shared like this! That’s always the hope/dream but you pitch and work on an article, and sometimes it makes a splash; sometimes it’s more “is this thing on?” This has been exciting.
Big thanks to @selena_soo for gifting me time with one of her wonderful media coaches, who helped me come up with this pitch that puts a new spin on the “pressure to have kids” conversation. Thanks also to encouragement in pitching it from @ashleyoerman in a coaching session via @susie.moore (I bring in all the help I can get when it comes to pitching media.) I wrote a whole chapter about this topic in Tough Titties called “Baby Fever” — about the condition I never had.

So amazing. I’m not a mother, though I’m dying to be. But… this article still resonates with me. Society needs to stop treating women without children as pariahs; it’s offensive. Stereotypical. And deeply hurtful. Thank you for writing tbis
