STRENGTH RESERVE: One of my favourite topics from my conversation with the JEDI GRANDMASTER OF NEUROSCIENCE @hubermanlab was the concept of STRENGTH RESERVE! 🎙️ Full discussion with Dr Andrew Huberman on Huberman Lab (link in story!) The principle is simple: the stronger you are, the smaller the percentage of your maximum strength required for each swimming stroke. So, theoretically, increasing your weighted pull-up strength could make thousands of repeated strokes relatively less demanding! 🔬 THE SCIENCE: 🇳🇴 Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Aspenes et al., 2009): Found that 11 weeks of combined strength and endurance training improved swimming pulling force and 400m performance. 🇳🇴 Nord University (Fone & van den Tillaar, 2022): A systematic review of 27 studies found that combining strength training with swimming generally improved performance, with gains of approximately 2–2.5% across training methods. Of course, strength must be combined with technique and endurance, but the research supports a simple principle: DON’T JUST TRAIN TO SWIM MORE. TRAIN TO GET STRONGER TOO! 💪
AD | Proud @gnome_rangers advisor 🍄✨ Pumpkin season is officially here, guys, and you know what that means....... it’s pumpkin pie time !! An absolute autumn classic, super comforting and dead easy to knock together. My clever mates at @gnome_rangers (who I’m super proud to support as an advisor) have pulled together some brilliant, fun pumpkin facts for the kids too. There really is nothing better than seeing the little ones get excited about real food, learning where their grub actually comes from, and getting properly stuck in in the kitchen! Swipe across to check out the facts with your lot, and definitely give this gorgeous pie recipe a go this weekend! Big love from your proud @gnome_rangers advisor xxx AD
Drama serial Aangan was a BIG flop in its first run in 2018, but later gained a cult-classic status among fans mainly due to Sahad's Nostalgia ✨ Seeing its hype among GEN-Zs, HUMTV airs it again at 8PM slot in the weekend, but ironically it gets bombed again with shockingly low TRPs & poor numbers on YouTube 💥 With this the much-anticipated drama of its time fails on its second attempt too 👀 #PSU #FOLLOW
