An evening to remember🩵👼🏻

Because “Threads” is full of some of the dumbest people on social media, I posted this and had nothing but people argue with me that you can in fact, do these things.

1. You cannot bias the lateral head of the triceps - The medial and lateral head work together. Neither cross the shoulder and both come down into the same insertion point. So there’s nothing you can do to “bias the lateral head”. So dumb

2. You cannot train the “upper” or “lower abs” - The rectus abdominis doesn’t have DIVISIONS. It’s one continuous muscle.

3. You can’t train the “lower lats” - Or bias any of them more than another. - It was speculated that based on neuromechanical matching that divisions of the lats could be biased. However, there’s enough data now for us to know that the whole lat is highly active when you get the arm down close to the side. To add, the lats aren’t like the pecs or delts where the different divisions do different things. The whole lat does the same thing. Third, you’re not trying to qualify for the Olympia so why the hell are you worried about “building lower lats”?

4 You cannot spot reduce - That means doing those high intensity rotational high rep whatever crap for your stomach WILL NOT reduce belly fat. Same for arms or any other bodypart. You can only lose fat through a calorie deficit and build muscle through strength training.

5. Quads - toes in, out, quad sweep CANNOT be trained for - All the quads come down into the patella tendon .The work in tandem through knee extension. You cannot “bias” the vastus lateralis for “quad sweep”. You can’t point toes a certain way to bias another vasti.

6. Biceps - long and short head work together to do elbow flexion. You can’t train for “wider” biceps or “biceps peak”.

7. You cannot train for more “inner chest”. You have three divisions of the pecs and only the sternal division originates at….the sternum. Fibers pull on bones from origin to insertion. You cannot isolate off those ends. 😂
