#Cuba On International #ArtistDay, we join the call for the immediate and unconditional release, without the imposition of forced exile, of #artists and prisoners of conscience Luis Manuel Otero @LMOAlcantara & Maykel 'Osorbo.' Both have endured constant harassment and have been unjustly deprived of their freedom. Their art and music have inspired a generation in Cuba to mobilize in defense of a democratic nation resonating with people worldwide. 🎨🎶✊ Free Luisma, free Maykel Osorbo & all Cuban prisoners of conscience. #Canada #FreeOtero #FreeOsorbo #ArtisticFreedom #CubaDemandsDemocracy #PresosDeCastro #HumanRights @amnesty

10/25/26 – As many of you have now read, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, the head of SAG-AFTRA, reportedly secured a salary increase of 10% to 15% and a contract extension through 2032. According to sources inside the union, these changes were pushed through without appearing on the original agenda. SAG-AFTRA members, you need to seriously ask yourselves whether your hard-earned dues are being used to represent your interests or enrich union leadership. There are mechanisms to remove board members and leadership, depending on your union’s constitution and bylaws. There are also potential legal remedies under Title V, Section 501(b) of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, which allows qualifying members to pursue legal action for breaches of fiduciary duty. I am actively working to identify attorneys willing to speak with members about their legal rights and options. And to independent production companies, a serious warning: Before placing a production security deposit with SAG-AFTRA, understand the financial risks. Multiple producers have raised allegations of prolonged delays and difficulties recovering their deposits. Until these concerns are adequately addressed, you should not assume your money will be returned promptly or without dispute. Stay tuned. I will continue investigating these allegations, pursuing accountability, and working to connect union members with attorneys who can explain their legal options.
