A real pounding for the human ear» says Anyelo Valerio, a member of Musicolos Italia. The musicólogo – a Dominican term for DJ – is the master of ceremonies of kitipo gatherings: an arena of sound systems mounted on top of and in the trunk of cars.”
At the Hyperlocal Festival, on Saturday, September 21st, you will find a gathering of kitipo by Musicologos Italia along with La Spezia’s Comunidad, the largest Dominican Republic community in Europe. There will be hairdressers and fried plantains, a DJ set by Blaze Drumz, and a photo exhibition by Samuel Costa, accompanied by a conversation moderated by Simone Bertuzzi about Kitipo techniques with Anyelo Valerio, Blaze Drumz, and Samuel Costa.
