This is a sight that has become more and more common over the last decade, and we have been at the forefront of this story as researchers, educators, and activists since it began in the early 2010s.
It's our mission to learn more about these animals in our waters, to spread the word to engage everyday New Yorkers (and New Jerseyans) with their coastal wildlife, and to make sure these whales can keep coming here to find food.
