I am finally 30 years old!! 🎂 For the past couple of years, I’ve felt like I’ve been going through a period of transition and have been so excited to turn 30. It’s funny because people seem to have such mixed feelings about turning 30. For some, it’s an age where you feel like you’re supposed to have everything figured out and for others it’s the beginning of a new chapter where you still have so much life ahead of you, only now with a little more knowledge, experience, and confidence. For me, it’s always been the latter. I feel like I’m finally growing into the woman I’ve always wanted to be. Growing up as a Middle Eastern lesbian, I had a lot to work through when it came to accepting myself and feeling comfortable in my own skin. And while that journey hasn’t always been easy, the closer I’ve gotten to 30, the more I’ve felt myself slowly becoming the person I’ve always hoped to be. With each passing year, I’ve become a little more confident, less concerned with what others think of me, and more intentional about the people I surround myself with. I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t mean having everything figured out. It means trusting yourself enough to keep going, even when things are difficult, to continue pursuing the things you dream of, and to be proud of how far you’ve come while knowing there’s still so much more to learn and experience. And I think that’s what makes turning 30 feel so special to me. I’m not looking at it as the end of my twenties. I’m looking at it as the beginning of a chapter where I feel more confident and fulfilled. Thank you so much to everyone for all the birthday wishes. I’m definitely feeling the love today.
