Another week done and dusted. I'm going on holiday for a week so it'll be nice to unwind. There won't be any weight training, but I will go for a couple of runs to keep on top of my cardio.
Here are some cardio tips to maintain your fitness:
1. Make it fun and adaptable
Explore your surroundings by running on the beach, hiking, or walking through scenic trails or cities.
2. Short and effective workouts
If time is limited, do a 15-20 minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session. Alternate between sprints and slow jogs or brisk walks.
3. Bodyweight cardio options
Try jumping jacks, burpees, mountain climbers, or shadowboxing in your room or outdoors.
Create a quick circuit to keep your heart rate up.
4. Pack lightweight gear
Bring resistance bands or a jump rope for a portable cardio workout.
5. Stay consistent
Aim for 3-4 short sessions during your trip, and don’t stress if it’s not your usual intensity. Something is better than nothing!
Enjoy your holiday and the balance of rest and movement!
