The focus of this was on the facade and street frontage. We took trips to the local downtown and studied how the facades of the stores interacted with the street, the sidewalks, and the surroundings. I took the elements of canopies and incorporated it into a layered facade system with a mechanical louvre system to allow customized lighting patterns into the interior. The inclusion of a parapet was integral to the recognition of historical storefronts in the American Downtown… ICONOGRAPHY.

Done with digital modeling in Rhino7, drawings done in Adobe Illustrator, rendered imagery done in Adobe Photoshop. Scale physical modeling was used for final representation purposes (not pictured).
