Talia, Armani and I started a 501c3 rescue called Red Listed Rescue focusing primarily on dogs set for euthanasia, medical needs dogs, and long term shelter dogs at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus, our local county shelter. It is part of the Riverside County Animal Shelter which has been said to have had the highest euthanasia rate in the last 2 years of any county shelter in the US…12,000 dogs. Our local community in Palm Springs/Coachella has been instrumental in getting investigate reporting done by news stations and now a major lawsuit on Riverside County Animal Shelters for violating the Haydens Law of California. We have started partnering with local places to bring the dogs out to the public so we can get them seen more and get great videos of them outside the shelter. It’s working! One great example is I took a dog out that had been in the shelter for over 6 months and in less than 2 hours I had a home for him and he didn’t return. We will be doing most postings of these dogs under our Red Listed Rescue social media handles in the near future. These videos are the Urgent coded dogs that will be at Indio Petco today from 12-3.
