Today marks two years without being able to pick up the phone and call you.
As I write this, with tears in my eyes, I’m also cracking up. The second post says, “If at first you don’t succeed, call Dad!” Well, that was me—only thing is, my daddy never answered his gotdamn phone!
I used to joke with him and say, “You’re my emergency contact, but you don’t answer the phone.” He would always rebut, “If you’re in an emergency, call 911, Negro!”
I’d do anything to play phone tag with you again. Anything to hear you leave me a voicemail..

I never met your dad, but you two sure set the vibe & tone for how a dad & daughter relationship should be. I hope every little girl ends up with a dad like yours🤍💛
