Dear Haiti Made friends - please read...
We are heavy-hearted to share the news that we have been coming to terms with over the last few months:
🚨 Haiti Made is pausing leather operations as we know them.
Truth is... the realities in Haiti are sobering. Rampant gang violence, road blockages, fuel shortages, and airlines ceasing travel in and out of the country have created a massive issue in shipping products to the States. In addition, our trusted leather supplier in Port-au-Prince has been forced to pause due to the escalating violence. No leather being available means no leather product can be made.
Our decision was not made lightly; it came after much prayer, reflection, and weighing the challenges of the current season. The hurdles we face—both within Haiti and beyond—have made it impossible to continue our job creation efforts in their current form. At the end of the day... it’s not letting us create jobs, which is the whole point.
We know this may be hard to hear, but we ask that you consider shifting your contributions to change and advocacy in Haiti by getting to know Hands & Feet Project, the nonprofit from which we were born.
@hafproject is diligently working in Haiti to keep families together and give Haitians the keys to a better future. You can find what’s left of our leather stock at www.handsandfeetproject.org.
Haiti Made leather operations will officially pause on February 28th, 2025 - so shop while you can.
Thank you for being more than customers over the past decade. Thank you for becoming family and advocating for men and women in Haiti. We couldn’t have done it without you.
On to the next chapter!
