So to celebrate my 43rd Journey Around the Sun, I decided to book a Birthday Photo Shoot on My EarthStrong.
Age 40, 41, & 42 taught me some major life lessons, the Growth and Healing that I’ve had during those seasons has been immense. I am grateful to those who shared those spaces with me and who are still my biggest supporters (y’all know who you are) because your presence has made a huge impact in my life.
Let’s talk about the vision…if you didn’t know by now I’m a Proud Jamaican Woman. Yeah, yeah… I wasn’t born and raised there but some of unnu woulda neva kno dat! That’s how much I Represent! Yaadie 4 Lyfe!
I Love My Cultural Roots, and have always enjoyed learning about Caribbean & African American History. It has definitely, shaped me into the person I am today.
So, I decided that this Photo Shoot should embody and represent Who I Am. I wanted to showcase the Bright, Bold, Beautiful and Colorful Spirit of Caribbean & African People. I also wanted to pay tribute to My African Roots through the incorporation of Kente Cloth which symbolizes African Unity and Pride. You may also notice a few adinkra symbols on my jewelry, beaded accessories, crystals, stones, and hair adornments. Yeah, I went deep y’all!! Everything to me has to have meaning and purpose. After all, I Am My Ancestors Dream.
Sending a special Thank You to Rashad and Kierra for executing my vision. The photos are beyond my wildest imagination. The drive, talent, precision, creativity, and professionalism that I experienced from them was Top Tier! You both are amazingly gifted, Keep Shinin’!!!
